WXXI’s Susan Rogers to speak about the new digital age at RAVA’s Annual Meeting and Picnic, Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm at the Lodge in Buckland Park on Westfall Road in Brighton.

What RAVA is all about:

A media-related organization dedicated to helping people communicate effectively using some form of media.
- To collect and disseminate scientific, technical and general information relating to the broad field of media audiovisual communications,
- To educate both the general public and members of the association in various phases and aspects of the field

RAVA membership is comprised of professionals from all disciplines applying media ineducation, business & industry, government, health science and community agencies,

are involved in......media production, media support, research, instruction and media use.

Animation, audio, camera work, computer graphics, directing, film and video editing, gaffer, grip, lighting, engineering, music, repair, photography, producing,  research,  selling,  teaching,  training,  writing

twice monthly –
-First Tuesday - informal luncheon, usually with a senior person – an executive, a creative talent, anyone connected with AV.
-Monthly Meeting - usually third Tuesday at 5:30 or 6:00 PM. A guest speaker or visit to a facility or company using AV.

Annually scholarships are awarded to outstanding young people involved in studying some aspect of media production or application.

Published bi-monthly, SHOP TALK keeps members informed about RAVA programs and events, summaries of meetings, profiles of new members, as well as news of area media happenings and people.

Membership directory provides names and addresses of members, RAVA's by-laws, officers and past presidents.

dues are $35 a year. Students and retirees are $17.50.
